Donovan McCain, M.Ed,LPCA, NCC

In 2014 I graduated from the University of Mississippi, with a Master of Education in Community Counseling. During my graduate internship, I assisted college-aged individuals with a diverse spectrum of needs. During my internship with the Center for Learning and Teaching Excellence, I facilitated groups and worked with individuals working through family and life stressors. I have also worked with at risk-youth and have worked closely with parents, teachers and other professionals to treat each child from a holistic approach. I have experience working to treat issues with anxiety, chronic and acute stress, depression, body-image, spiritual direction, bullying, sexual abuse, trauma, and LGBT issues.  When appropriate, I utilize methods in meditation, mindfulness, and stress management skills.

As a therapist, I work with a client centered approach. I work to empower individuals with prescribed clinical methods that are best suited for the individual and the situation. These can range from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Mindfulness-based approaches, Meditation/Guided Visualization, and Creative/Expressive Arts.

In my off time, I enjoy hiking, reading, cooking, songwriting and playing music, meditation, and practicing martial arts.
