Larry Waxman, MA, LPC, QS
My name is Larry Waxman and I am a licensed professional counselor with over 15 years of experience working with clients experiencing challenges with their body, mind, and spirit. I earned my Masters in Counseling and Psychology with an emphasis in Holistic Studies from John F. Kennedy University. I am a fun loving guy who enjoys working with others and helping others help themselves. I have always been tuned into peoples’ energy and wanting to help others regain their passions in life. I believe therapy is a journey between two people, or three or more depending on if I am working with a couple or family, of self-discovery. I work with clients to help unlock their potential and achieve their goals. Change is one of the hardest things to do, and I am here to help facilitate that.
I work with children, adolescents, adults, as well as with couples and families using a variety of therapeutic approaches that include: cognitive-behavioral therapy, client-centered therapy, solution-focused therapy, family-systems therapy, meditation and mindfulness therapy. I specialize in helping those with issues pertaining to ADHD, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, male issues, anger management, domestic violence, mental and physical disabilities, oppositional defiance, schizophrenia, and bipolar. I played semi-professional baseball while living in California. When not helping others I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. Ii enjoy going to live sporting events, traveling to the beach and mountains, and spending time outdoors while camping. I also am an avid reef keeper and have a personal saltwater aquarium.
