Amelia Kelley, PhD, MS, LPC


My name is Amelia Kelley and I am the owner and supervisor at Kelley Counseling. I earned a Doctorate of Philosophy in Psychology from Capella University in January of 2017 along with a Masters in Art Therapy and Counseling from Nazareth College of Rochester in 2005 where I interned in both the adult psychiatric setting and an adolescent day treatment program.

Since then I have worked in schools, outdoor therapy camps, day treatment programs and an outpatient methadone clinic serving adults with addiction and mental illness. I acquired my license as a Professional Counselor (LPC #7483), in 2009 and a certified hypnotist, September, 2014 (HMI Institute) and have been trained to administer EMDR in 2017 from PESI institute. In my doctoral dissertation I studied the effect of exercise on adult ADHD symptoms. I have 12 years of experience utilizing Art Therapy and Counseling while serving a wide variety of populations including; young children, adolescents and teens, their families and adults with mental health and substance abuse diagnosis, LGBTQ issues, anxiety, personality disorders, depression, PTSD, obsessive behaviors and disorders, mood disorders, personality disorders, eating disorders, Methadone Maintenance and Suboxone Therapies, anger management issues, marital stress or divorce and transitional life stress. I provide individual, couples and family counseling.

When I am not at work I enjoy; writing, reading, playing guitar, singing, yoga, photography, exercise, travel, movies, camping, hiking, cooking and most importantly spending time with friends and family.
